Created from debris from the restoration and renovation of The Townsville Drill Hall – a heritage listed, Federation era complex, this abstract style sculpture has elegant lines and is rich with symbolism. The forged upright steel sentinels guard the relics – some of the 11,000 tacks which were pulled from the floor boards by hand. The tacks were placed in the forge with copper from piping and fused together, then mounted on a hardwood block. The block is guarded by the sentinels, and surrounded by radiating forged arms.
