The artist:
I enjoy the challenge of working with clay. There are so many things which can go wrong from the clay cracking before it even gets to the kiln to the glaze not working as it should. Clay is not for the faint hearted. It takes skill, patience and perseverance. My head is always full of ideas. While I am working on a piece I am deciding how I will glaze it. I am also starting to think of the next piece I will make. It is usually a progression of the previous thing I’ve made. I love buildings,. I make a lot of buildings but I rarely copy a building. I take the bits which interest me and turn them into my building. I try to make beautiful things. I don’t like ugly especially if it has a deep and meaningful message. I simply try to make things which are pleasing to look at.
