Denise Axelsen ‘Cheese board’ Timber/forged iron

This small chopping/cutting/cheese board is ideal for camping/caravanning which is how and why it was originally made. It also makes a great little gift for someone’s birthday or house warming or engagement. Or for the budding chef or just as a treat for yourself.

The boards are all identical and pre – purchased. What is unique is the handmade or hand forged handle as I say. Made using traditional blacksmithing techniques of fire, anvil and hammer in my workshop in the tropics of Townsville, QLD. Australia.

The handles have been coated in 3 coats of clear acrylic spray paint to prevent rusting. The wood has been nourished using Orange Oil to give a natural sheen and can be washed with soap and water and a once a year feed of a cooking oil of your choice should easily sustain it.

Please do not allow the wooden board or handle to soak in water. It is much improved by drying immediately after washing.

The wooden board including handle measures 36 centimetres by 19 centimetres at its widest and weighs 600 grams.
