EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS
Calling artists - would you like to exhibit your art?
Inspired by a donation of antique Pianola Rolls, 30 artists have re-imagined these
to create a selection on unique and creative artworks.
Popular sources of entertainment in the early 20th century, pianolas have been relegated
to the past, but these rolls will live on in contemporary artworks to give pleasure
for a new generation. You will be very plesantly surprised by what the artists have
done with them.
Artwork will be on display from Friday February 23 to March 21.
Opens Friday 23 Feb 6.30 pm
Cath Meharry - Unframed
Cath Meharry, one of the Drill Hall Studio’s resident artists spent 4 decades teaching
art to high school students. Over that time she has not only taught almost every
young woman who studied at St Margaret Mary’s College, she also taught their mums,
and some of their teachers!
Cath’s signature use of mixed media, incorporating watercolour, drawing, printing
and collage captures the little details of the natural world around us. She seeks
inspiration and beauty from the coast to the rainforest, from delicate shells to
leaves and seed pods.
This extensive body of work is presented unframed, and so very affordable.
Opens Friday 23 March
